Splitsaw for manual Operation
This special-purpose multi-saw is designed for performing the task of dividing
moulded veneer plates into several individual parts. The width of these parts
can be varied from 24 to 630 mm, enabling up to 20 identical pieces to be
produced in a single operation - depending on the thichness and width of the
given material.
The machine features a vertical spindle, onto which the saw blades are clamped. Spacer rings set the blades to the desired width of the finished part. The work piece (i.e. the moulded veneer plate) is clamped in one of two ways:
Work pieces are fixed by 2 sets of aluminium jaws with tightening handles placed on 2 adjustable swivel arms. The jaws ensure a speedy resetting and are especially suitable for dividing of work pieces with a single geometry or for use in productions requiring many resettings.
Alternatively the work piece may be clamped by a universally variable clamping system able to secure any shape of plate without special arrangements, apart from the necessary adjustment of the individual elements of the clamping system (arms, swivel links, vacuum cups)
Both clamping systems guarantee completely parallel and exact cutting in the bending direction of the plate and ensure a clean cut. Cutting accuracy +/- 0,1 mm.
A further feature is a highly developed safefy system including a vacuum-system. While work pieces are being clamped or unloaded, the blades are guarded by an automatic blade screen. The motors are IP 54 and have a DC brake. Processing and handling times vary from half a minute to one and a half minute, depending on the size and thichness of the gives plate. An auxiliary feeding device with continuously variable speed can be delivered.
In course of time we have produced a considerable number of these machines, and they have been sold to leading furniture manufacturers in most parts of the world. Automatic splitsaw
The automatic splitsaw is a further development of our sturdy and thoroughly
tested manual splitsaw, and it is designed in consideration of future
environmental requirements. When placed in cabin both dust and noise level of
the machine is very low during operation.
The splitsaw features a servosystem including computer. To saw a new batch of plates, the operator directs the first work pieces through the system in the usual manner, considering the form of the work piece. During this the computer-system is put in "learning" position. The movements are automatically memorized in the RAM-memory of the control. During the following sawing operations the moving speed may be edited. The editing may take place by changing the entire movement speed by a percentage, or by increasing or lowering the speed locally.
The local editing is performed during dividing of work pieces, thus allowing the operator to watch the dividing process while editing. In the control a built-in supervision system ensures that the machine can not be overloaded due to false editing.
Optimum cutting speed is achieved by these editing facilities resulting in increased efficiency. The machine is enclosed by a cabin and thus shielded from staff when in operation. During the automatic cycle of operations the operator may attend to other working tasks, the operation of a "cutter" for instance.
Operation of the machine is simple, both in terms of programming and working. No special qualifications are required in order to be able to programme the machine. The automatic splitsaw makes an increased productivity possible and sets employees free to undertake other working tasks.
